The Letter C for Cat & Canary

The Letter D for Duncan the Dragon

F is for Fairy

E is for Elk and Eagles

The positive side to the gray skies of winter is it has been a productive one. I have been working on new letter illustrations for my up coming shows starting in June at Crocker Park, in Westlake, OH. Variety keeps the customers coming!

Whew! That is a lot of artwork!

While visiting the Beck Center of the Arts with my husband Norman to photograph the artwork for the other contributing artists, I took this shot with my iPhone. It struck me that my retirement from American Greetings has been a busy one! As you can see after working in rectangular layouts for 39 years, the square became a nice change of pace!

Three of my artists friends from American Greetings and I opened our show called Women of Creativity: Four Artists, Four Perspectives last Saturday. The show will be up through February 8th.

It was a cold night, but I was amazed at the turn out for a January. My husband, Norman, helped me to hang 74 pieces of art in the gallery area of the Beck Center for the Arts. It took us 3 1/2 hours which meant we hung one every 3 minutes. The staff at the Beck Center are truly wonderful! They make having a show and an opening easy. We were indebted to their help.

It was nice to see familiar faces from my many years at American Greetings as well as family and friends. It certainly brightened up a cold January evening!

I have joined with some of my fellow artists Jen Fitchwell, Lisa Aten, and Terry Flores, all of whom I had worked with over the years at American Greetings to do a show at the Beck Center for the Arts which is located on 1780 Detroit Rd., Lakewood, OH.

I am quite excited to do this show again. The looks will be quite diverse, but very uplifting to chase away the gray winter skies of Cleveland.

If you are in the area, come check us out. The show is from January 9th - February 8th.

While doing a few shows this spring and summer, I have received several suggestions for ideas for new designs. While some are more personal and therefore spesific, one kept standing out; a design suitable for a baby gift. Of course the letter B stood out as an oppportunity, so here is my latest addition: B is for Baby Bear.

Hope to get a good response this September in some of my upcoming shows.

It was a wonderful weekend for Picture Book Studio at the Arts in the Park in Port Clinton, OH. To my pleasant surprice I was awarded 1st place by Port Clinton Artists' Club yesterday. I purposely posed by my artwork that states: "Always count your blessings", and yes, I feel truly blessed.

My thanks of gratitude to the Port Clinton Artists. Club.

P is for Peas in a Pod

P is for Port Clinton as well. The design above is the newest in my Alphabet Soup series which will make its debut this weekend at the Arts in the Park art festival in Port Clinton, August 2nd and 3rd from 10-5PM. It is right by the lake which adds to the summer festivities.

O is for Oliver the Orange Octopus

In getting ready for another show next weekend, I realized it would be fun to add another O with a more whimsical look. Each show I realize I need to add more variety to my alphabet series. Although it is hard to please everyone,

I hope this one makes a hit.
